Field Archery - a layman’s definition
The art of shooting (mainly) 3 dimensional targets of (usually) animals, of all sizes and shapes, in a wooded environment.
Shooting takes place from ‘pegs’ placed at unspecified distances away from the target so that every shot is new and untried.
There are various ‘classes’ of bow style and children are well catered for in appropriate age grouping.
HNA is affiliated to the NFAS (National Field Archery Association) . There is a host of information about all things ‘Field’ on their website at
http://www.nfas.net/
Many of HNA’s members will shoot ‘field’ targets at the regular club meetings at Gayes Sports Field.
The lack of trees and bushes does not prevent good shooting practise!
HNA’s members shoot in a variety of club competitions throughout the year as well as the National Championships.
